The challenge

Why we built a modular ERP of our own

Schools, finance teams, HR departments and consumer apps share the same foundations: people, records, accounts and permissions. We set out to build a modular ERP that serves all of them, without forcing every business into the same shape.

Most ERPs arrive as one large package. Businesses pay for modules they never open, while the parts they do need rarely match how their sector works.

The platform also had to be multi-tenant from day one, so many organisations could run on it with their own users, permissions and data. And adding a new sector couldn’t mean months of hand-built screens.

What we built

One shared core, with business modules that plug into it and a client app that runs on the same API.

Metadata-driven engine

Forms, tables and permissions are generated from metadata, so a new module ships as configuration rather than code.

Modules for four industries

Education, accounting, HR and payroll, and health and nutrition, all on one shared core and data model.

Multi-company roles and permissions

Each company gets its own data, users and roles, and grants only the modules it has licensed.

Angular 18 admin panel

A web admin for configuring modules, managing records and running day-to-day operations across tenants.

Flutter client app

A cross-platform client app on the same API, which also powers our Sublime Groceria app.

We built the core first, so every module after it would be faster to add.

Results

What the modular ERP delivers today

Sublime Care Cloud is a working multi-tenant platform, available at sublimecarecloud.com, running 30+ business modules across six integrated applications.

Because forms and tables come from metadata, adding a module is mostly configuration work. The same API serves the Angular admin panel, the Flutter client and products such as Sublime Groceria.

AI features run on our own servers rather than through an outside provider, which keeps tenant data under our control. We still own, run and develop the platform every day.

Technology

The stack behind Sublime Care Cloud

The back-end runs on .NET 8 and ASP.NET Core, with EF Core and SQL Server for data. The admin panel is built in Angular 18 and the client app in Flutter.

We host and maintain the platform ourselves, including the servers that run its open-source AI models. If you need a system like this, our custom software development team builds on the same stack.
