Elliott Wave Forecast
Case study · Laravel subscription platform
A custom Laravel membership platform for Elliott Wave Forecast
We replaced the legacy aMember membership system with a custom Laravel platform, integrated with Elliott Wave Forecast’s existing WordPress site: recurring billing, a member dashboard, a full admin and APIs.
- Laravel 10
- Payment integration
- WordPress
- 816 active subscriptions
The challenge
A subscription business that had outgrown its plugins
Elliott Wave Forecast sells subscriptions to Elliott Wave analysis, live sessions and trading-room videos across dozens of instruments.
Memberships and payments ran on aMember alongside the WordPress site. Trials, renewals, coupons, affiliates and support were spread across plugins that were never designed for how the business actually sells and serves members.
The business needed membership platform development from the ground up: billing it controls, a dashboard built for its members and an admin built for its team, while keeping its WordPress site.
Project goals
- Replace aMember with a custom platform
- Recurring billing on more than one gateway
- A member dashboard built around instruments
- One admin for billing, support and content
- Connect CRM, email and affiliate tools
What we built
A Laravel application that runs the subscription business, connected to the WordPress site in front of it.
Payments and recurring billing
Payment gateway integration with recurring billing and automatic renewals every day.
Checkout, trials and coupons
Custom checkout links, add-ons, coupon batches and trials that can’t be reused.
Member dashboard
Instrument groups, chart updates, live and recorded sessions, watchlist and learning content.
Admin and reporting
Members, subscriptions, affiliates and coupons, with revenue reports in PDF and Excel.
APIs and integrations
REST APIs for content, plus Zoho Campaigns, FirstPromoter, ActiveCampaign and ZeroBounce.
Automation and security
Scheduled renewals and expiry checks, email-to-ticket support and two-factor admin login.
Custom admin and member area
An admin built for the team, a dashboard built for members
The admin replaced aMember’s control panel with one built around the team’s daily work: support tickets, contact messages, knowledge base, Zoho tags, reporting, affiliates, coupons and content.
Members get a dashboard organised by instrument group, and the WordPress site shares its header, footer and login check with the platform.

Results
One platform that runs the business
Billing, renewals, member content, support and reporting now run on one Laravel platform the business owns, instead of aMember and WordPress plugins.
Today the platform manages 816 active subscriptions and more than 47,000 subscription records, and processes renewals automatically every day across three payment gateways. A recent 7-day period saw 235 paid renewals, a run-rate of roughly 1,000 a month.
We continue to develop and support the platform. Running a subscription business? See our web app development service.

Technology
The stack behind the platform
The member platform is a custom Laravel 10 application on PHP 8.1. It handles payment integration and recurring billing, with scheduled jobs for renewals and expiries and queues that keep marketing tools in sync.
The public site runs on WordPress with our custom theme and a plugin of 65+ page-builder widgets. It shares its header, footer and login check with the platform over a custom REST API.
